WELCOME TO THE PALMER SCHOLARS APPLICATION

Eligibility

  • Identify as a person of color

  • High school junior in fall 2019 at a Pierce County high school

  • Actively involved and in your school and your community

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA

  • From a low-income family (generally determined by Free/Reduced Lunch eligibility; exceptions may apply)


Commitment

  • Attend one to two events and/or trainings per month between spring semester junior year through the summer after graduating high school.

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA

  • Maintain contact with Palmer Scholars staff & mentor throughout college

  • Complete semi-annual check-ins

  • Apply to additional outside scholarships


Program Benefits

  • College readiness trainings

  • A mentor who provides 1-on-1 support

  • Up to $30,000 in financial assistance (minimum $1000 scholarship, $500 book stipend & $500 person expenses stipend each year of college)
